Vision ‘26

These are exciting times at GoZERO. We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2026 by casting a vision for expanded education, disposal, and composting services.

Over the years, we’ve learned a great deal about how to best compost food scraps and have established a strong foundation for doing even more good by continuing to develop reproducible, scalable, and efficient systems for avoiding organic material waste.

The GoZERO Institute

The institute is a recently formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing education and training related to food scrap composting and broader recycling practices that benefit agriculture and communities. Our first online and in-person courses are planned to launch in Q1 2026, with additional learning opportunities expanding throughout the year.

Compost Coaches Network: Within the institute, we are building a community of local compost coaches—leaders in their own neighborhoods—trained to help individuals, schools, and organizations start and grow composting programs.

GoZERO Ventures

Ventures a new for-profit GoZERO organization working to develop a network of composting operations, starting with food scraps and expanding into broader organic/agricultural recycling. We are committed to empowering local leaders and scaling regional solutions.

Hosting & Franchising: Our programming will make it possible to host a GoZERO-operated composting site or partner through a franchise model, enabling local leaders to bring composting services directly to their communities.

Investment Pathways: We are designing an accessible mechanism for individuals, institutions, and partners to invest in the development of regional composting and recycling infrastructure across the Midwest

GoZERO has always been built by people like you—neighbors, partners, and composting champions who know we can do more together. As we begin this next chapter, we invite you to help shape it.

Thank you for the past 10 years and the years ahead. This work is bigger than any one of us, and it depends on passionate people willing to take part. Together we can keep building something that lasts.
