Calling All Compost Lovers!
There is too little access to locally produced compost made from food scraps. GoZERO is working to solve that problem by partnering with community organizations that would like to host a year-round or seasonal “community compost consignment pickup point.” Partners need a publicly accessible brick-and-mortar reception area where partner personnel can assist community members with ordering and picking up compost bags during regular business hours. Point-of-sale capabilities are not required. We’re especially interested in organizations that would like to host a year-round pickup point, but seasonal partners are also very welcome. Recommend this program to your favorite community organization. We appreciate your consideration!
How does it work?
GoZERO provides program flyers and compost bags for your location, with automated checkout via QR codes.
In February, GoZERO opens pre-orders for the spring “Tour-de-Compost” promotion (also via QR code), offering discounted bags available for pickup as a batch late April, just in time for spring planting.
GoZERO handles bulk compost delivery and food scrap collection service interest.
The host receives low-effort, high-value recognition as a community compost champion and source, along with a portion of the proceeds.
How do I learn more?
Answer a couple of questions here to indicate your interest in learning more – either about becoming a community compost consignment pickup point host, OR about being the first to know about pickup points being organized in your community!
GoZERO will contact you, help determine whether hosting is a good fit for your situation, and, if so, deliver flyers and a few 5-pound bags to community members who’d like their compost right away.
GoZERO will then stay in touch to help you ensure community members can access nutrient-rich food scrap compost through your community compost consignment pickup point program.
What’s the timeline for spring setup?
October - January: Establish our relationship and deliver pickup point flyers and bags.
February: Open spring pre-orders for compost, advertising the sale with local community partners
March: Close spring pre-orders late March
April: Organize batch delivery of bags in mid-April (typically in tandem with Earth Day week)
Year-round: community members can order compost at any time, and GoZERO will deliver bags to participating pickup points within 7-10 business days.
